About Agadir

Morocco’s largest city Agadir is located in the south and it also the capital of the Souss-Massa-Draa region. Situated on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, just north of where the Souss River meets the ocean, this city is an important fishing and commercial port.

Agadir is famous for its wealth of seafood and agricultural products and is also the world’s number one sardine port. Agadir is a great tourist destination with attractions such as its fun nightlife, Souss-Massa National Park, Bird Valley, Agadir Castle and Souk al Had. Tourism is spread to every part of Agadir throughout the whole year.

In addition to the surrounding Anti-Atlas Mountains, the Sahara, and the natural parks, Agadir features pristine beaches, each more magnificent than the next. Even during the winter the temperature during the day is around 20 degrees. One of the most important features of the city’s easily accessible, beautiful beaches is their quality and the calm and quiet environment. Especially Souk al Had, which is Morocco’s largest traditional market, even though it isn’t in a very cool structure. In addition, the souq in Inezgane, famous for its silver, fruits, and spices, and the souq in Taroudant, famous for its carpets and jeweler are worth seeing.
