The history of Didim, which was dominated by the Cretans, Achaeans, Mycenaeans, Persians, Romans, Byzantines and finally Turks, dates back to the ancient periods. Didim, whose name was Didyma in the ancient period, is one of the calmest and peaceful holiday destinations of Turkey. Didim, which is the first choice of the families with children thanks to its blue-flag beaches and shallow sea, offers a unique experience for its visitors with its natural beauties and historical texture. The places that you should definitely visit in Didim are Altınkum Beach which is located 2 km of the city center and has the most luxurious holiday resorts of the town, the Temple of Apollo, which is an amazing Ionian work of art (entrance fee is 10 TL-2017), Miletus Theatre and Miletus Museum having a capacity of about 19 thousand people, Saplı Islet where you can watch the breathtaking sunset views and Bafa Lake National Park which is 16 km away from Didim.
