There are many public transportation alternatives you can prefer to directly reach Irkutsk Airport from Irkutsk city center, especially from Kirov Square. The most popular of these transportation alternatives is undoubtedly minibuses. You can also take the advantage of the options such as trolleybus and buses. Taxi or rental car options are naturally a little more expensive compared to public transportation. At Irkutsk Airport, there are three different stations, which are the last stop of the public transportation vehicles, as Station No 1, No 2 and No 3. There are frequent minibus services that directly go to the airport from Kirov Square and the stops at the most central points of Irkutsk. If you are near Irkutsk railway station, you can reach Station 1 at Irkutsk Airport by taking the minibus number 20 or if you are in Marshal Konev Street, you can take the minibus number 48 and reach the Station 1.

Bus

You can also take the advantage of the buses if minibus services are not suitable for you. You can reach Irkutsk Airport in 15 minutes maximum by taking the airport buses departing from the city center. The current ticket price for local buses is 20 Rubles.

Trolleybus

The most practical way to reach Irkutsk Airport from the city center is to travel by trolleybus. Not only is it affordable, it is also quite faster compared to buses and minibuses. You can get to the airport in 10 minutes by taking the trolleybus line 4 if you are near Kirov Square in Irkutsk city center. If you are in Zhukovsky Square that is a little far away, you can arrive at Station 3 at Irkutsk Airport by taking the trolleybus line 6.

Taxi

Taxi is not highly preferred in Irkutsk because of the wide variety of public transportation; however, you can take a taxi if you are in a hurry. The taxi fare you need to pay is about 410-500 Rubles to reach Irkutsk Airport from the city center by taxi. Since taximeters are not used in many taxis, you can bargain with the taxi driver.

Rent a car

There are more local and international car rental companies in the city center compared to Irkutsk Airport. Therefore, it would be useful to make a quick search for a more economical transportation. Hour-based rental is not generally offered and so you can rent a car daily-based and you can reach the airport and then deliver it to the offices at the airport.

Airport Information

Located at the very center of the city, Irkutsk Airport is 30 kilometers east of Lake Baikal. Some airline companies also arrange direct flights to the most popular destinations of Russia from Irkutsk Airport, which is only 7 kilometers east of the city center. Irkutsk Airport has two terminal buildings and offers various services such as free internet access, VIP lounges, bank, currency exchange, ATM machines, tourist help desks, cafés, restaurants, shopping stores, and etc.

You can get to the city center from Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, which is located in the Gaziemir district 18 km away, by Havas shuttles, public buses, train, taxi or personal car. You can also rent a car at the airport.

Personal Car

If you are going to drive to the city center from Adnan Menderes Airport using your personal car, you can get to central locations like Alsancak and Konak in about 30 minutes.

Havaş

Havaş shuttles are a good choice to reach the city center. Havaş shuttles provide high frequency transportation to the city starting in the early morning and continue until late at night. You can reach many locations both in the city and outside the city, like Alsancak, Karsiyaka, Kusadasi, and Aydin, using Havaş shuttles.

In addition, from March-October Havaş shuttles provide transportation to and from Çeşme.

Taxi

You can get to your destination quickly by taking a taxi. Taxis are located right outside the terminal. However, if you’re going somewhere outside of the city like Çeşme taking a taxi can be very expensive. We would recommend finding out the distance to your destination and calculating the fare before hand.

Bus

Public buses are another alternative to get to the city center. Using line 200 you can get to Mavisehir, using line 202 you can get to Alsancak and its surrounding areas, and using line 204 you can get to Bornova and its surrounding areas. Before getting on the bus purchase a Kentkart (smart card for fare payment), which is valid for the metro and train as well.

Train

The fastest and most practical way to get to the city center from Adnan Menderes Airport is by train. The platforms are just outside the terminal, a short walk away. You can buy a Kentkart on the platform and take the train to the city center.

Rental Cars

Renting a car to get around in Izmir is a good idea, especially if you plan to spend a few days in the city and/or travel to the surrounding areas. You can reserve your vehicle in advance and pick it up from the car rental office located at the airport. You can return your vehicle at the airport rental office a few hours before your departure. In Izmir traffic is generally mild, with the exception of rush hour, which is another reason why renting a car can be more advantageous. Rental car agencies at the airport include Avis, Hertz, Işıl Tur, Sun Rent a Car, and Duray Rent a Car.

You can watch aircrafts land and take off from almost every part of Adnan Menderes Airport. After you go through the security check there are many eating and drinking alternatives in the domestic and international terminals, including Kantin, Starbucks, Gloria Jean's, Cafe İzmir, Burger King and Beer Port.

If you are travelling internationally, you can go shopping for a variety of products like chocolate, alcohol, and perfume at the Duty Free shops. Some of these shops include the Old Bazaar, Duty Free Shop, Desa, Alsancak and D&R.
